Being Indispensable

Being Indispensable is a podcast for Executive Assistants. It's about the mindset shift required to form a true partnership with your executive but it's also about never losing sight of the fact that we are human beings not human doings and we need to be kind to ourselves and focus on progress over perfection. Join Liz as she explores the skills and leadership development required to build a true partnership with your executive.

The sixth in a series on POWER Skills for Indispensable Assistants. These are often called 'soft' skills but they are anything but soft.

I believe that you can be functionally competent and you can even be strategically competent and know who’s who in the zoo and understand the intangible power dynamics that operate in all organisations (both competencies are essential in my experience to being truly on your way to being perceived as indispensable). But if you soft skills are lacking or you're simply not investing in constantly developing them then you are missing the vital element that’s going to really allow you step into the space of being a truly indispensable assistant.
